Mr. Folsom has been in the recycling industry since 1988 and is currently President and sole proprietor of Burbank Recycling Inc, a California “S” corporation. Mr. Folsom started his career with Smurfit Recycling Company, one the world’s largest recycling companies, and went on to become an equity partner with BLT Enterprises. During this time Mr. Folsom set up and operated;
- Del Norte Regional Recycling & Transfer Station, Oxnard
- Sacramento Recycling & Transfer Station, Sacramento
In July, 2004, Mr. Folsom swapped his equity in BLT Enterprises for 100% ownership of the Burbank Operating agreement and a cash disbursement from the sale of Central Los Angeles Transfer Station.
Mr. Folsom continues to successfully operate the Burbank Recycle Center as well as an expansive brokerage division buying and selling recyclable commodities throughout the world. Mr. Folsom has most recently signed a brokerage marketing agreement to purchase recyclables from the world’s largest material recovery facility (Tadweer) located in Dubai, U.A.E.
Ben Sung, Vice President, Sales & Marketing
Mr. Sung has more than 10 years experience in the recycling industry, 4 of which have been at Burbank Recycling where he is responsible for sales as well as managing Burbank Recycling Inc’s brokerage division.
His expertise is in establishing direct trading relationships with overseas and domestic end users of recyclable commodities. Mr. Sung is fluent in Mandarin, Chinese. His job responsibilities take him overseas and to China 2-3 times per year.
Mr. Sung markets in excess of 20,000 tons per month of recyclable commodities for Burbank Recycling Inc and its brokerage supplier relationships.
Adrian Rosales, Facility Manager
Mr. Rosales has been actively involved in all aspects of material recovery facility operations for more than 10 years.
As Burbank Recycling Inc’s Facility Manager, Mr. Rosales is responsible for all aspects of plant operations.
Prior to this Mr. Rosales was supervisor at the Central LA Transfer & Recycling and operation’s manager at Los Angeles Recycling.
Rene Menjivar, Operations Manager
Mr. Menjivar has been involved in the waste & recycling industry for more than 25 years. He has a solid grasp on all aspects of the facility operations as it relates to production schedules, equipment repair & maintenance and shift supervision.
Javier Garcia, Supervisor
Mr. Garcia has been over 20 years experience in the waste & recycling industry. He is extremely self motivated and is admired by the employees under his supervision. He has in-depth experience of the operations, including; loading baled recyclables onto flatbeds, into export containers, running balers, operating certified scales, buying form the public, operating loaders and supervising crews.
Carmen Arroyo, Human Resources, Safety & Environmental Manager
Ms. Arroyo has 7 years experience in the waste and recycling industry. As Burbank Recycling Inc’s HR, Safety & Environmental Manager, she is responsible for all employee hiring practices and employment laws, documentation as well as process and safety training. She also has experience of enforcing the substance abuse program.
Ms. Arroyo works closely with the City of Burbank on all safety and environmental compliance issues. Ms. Arroyo attends the City of Burbank safety meetings and is constantly staying current on new regulations via attending off-site training and seminars.
Karen Woo, Accountant
Ms. Woo has more than 10 years accounting experience, of which, more than 4 have been in the recycling industry. As Burbank Recycling Inc’s accountant, she manages all administration functions, supervises the office staff, closes the monthly books and prepares formal income statements which are reviewed and audited by the outside accounting firm of Swartz & Feliciani.
Yesenia Ortiz, Transportation Logistics
Ms. Ortiz has been involved in the recycling industry for more than 15 years. She is well qualified in all areas of accounting support and trucking logistics
